Book Announcement: The Dragon of Crystal and Frost

Since the death of her mentor, Melanie has been adrift without purpose. Entrusted with a sword of great power and an unknown past, the young knight hears of a legend that tells of an elven mage imprisoned in a great tower and guarded by a mighty dragon in the tallest mountain in the land of Diamondpeak. Desperate to make a name for herself, she sets out to slay the dragon, free the elven mage, and become a hero in her own way.

But when the time comes, can she do it? Or is there another role that she’s supposed to play?

I also want to give a shout out to Tabitha O’Connell, who did a wonderful job editing this book:

So! This is a project I’ve been working on for the past couple of years, and after so long, I’m finally approaching the finish line! I’m so excited to finally talk about it outside of my Patreon! This is my first time publishing an ebook, so please bear with me as I figure it all out.

It’s a novella around 10k words, and the first in a series (I have four more planned, but we’ll see how that goes!). I realized if I was ever going to publish anything, I would need to start small. I’ve been working on this story since late 2020, and after a lot of work and moments where I didn’t have much time to write, it’s almost ready to go!

Both main characters, Melanie and the elven mage, are also asexual. I want to note this because while I wrote them as such, it’s implicit rep rather than explicit/said outright rep. I just want to make that clear, and to set expectations. I plan to explore this more in the later novellas.

I’m hoping to get this published this winter. I’m going to go with Draft2Digital, so it will be on multiple storefronts. I’ll make another post with the links once the book is published!

In the meantime, I’ll be working on the finishing touches and choosing a release date!
